"I had the best ice cream EVER. You have to invite them to our farmers' market," said my friend Alice. Dish Cuisine was already on my radar, but that was the stamp of approval. Dish Cafe is getting a reputation for a number of reasons: for their great ice cream, or their delicious French inspired American cuisine, or their cute cafe on RT 9W in Upper Nyack.
We happened to know about their ice cream first.
Seven years ago, Alex Lopukhin was ready for a life change. She knew she loved to cook, so she registered at the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC. Upon graduating, she set out to open her own restaurant.
Alex is a magician (or is she a chemist!) at combining flavors. Her Funky Flavors ice creams are hand-made with such creative combinations of flavors that you can't believe what you are eating. Then there are her mayonaises: Arugula mayo and Chipotle mayo. So unique and totally makes sense for that extra zip in sandwiches. She also cooks up a wide variety of
